Cambodia, April 10, 2024 – The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Culture witnessed the signing of a Cooperation Agreement in the field of higher education and human resources development between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture (MESSK), represented by Mrs. Maria Filomena Lay Guterres, Director-General of Higher Education and Science, and the University of Cambodia, represented by the Magnificent Rector.
His Excellency the Minister, in his remarks after the signing of the agreement, thanked the University of Cambodia for hosting, in 2019, 10 Timorese students with full scholarships funded by the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, who continued their studies at the bachelor’s level in areas such as international business, international relations, computer science, and technology.
According to the plan, the Government of Timor-Leste, through the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture, will soon send another 10 Timorese students – who have already passed the first selection phase – to continue their studies at the University of Cambodia. Also present at the signing of this agreement was the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Mr. Ermenegildo Lopes.
