Díli, 02/10/2024: His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, Dr. José Honório, held a meeting with the team from Millennium Challenge Account Timor-Leste (MCA-TL) in the MESSK meeting room, Colmera Díli. The purpose of this meeting was to introduce the work plan that will be carried out by international companies in establishing educational areas, with a priority focus on activities for secondary education teacher training.
During this meeting, one of the key programs presented by the MCA was the “Talent” project, which will establish Teacher Training Institutions under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture. The aforementioned project will be financed by the United States of America, with a total budget of 40.2 million dollars allocated to the initiative.
His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, Dr. José Honório, expressed his full support for the implementation of the project, aiming to establish programs to create these Teacher Training Institutions.
Attending the session alongside His Excellency the Minister were technical teams from MESSK, composed of both national and international advisors, as well as the Executive Director of MCA-TL, Dr. Constâncio Pintu, and his team.
