Dili, 03/04/2024: A distinguished team from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, composed of directors, managers, and technicians, participated in the workshop β€œASEAN SOCIO-CULTURAL COMMUNITY (ASCC), ASEAN TRAVELING RESOURCE PERSONS PROGRAMME (ATRPP), Training on Education, Youth, and Sports,” which took place between the 4th and 6th of March this year at the MSSI hall in Caicoli, Dili.

The local organization of the event was carried out by the three government agencies involved in the areas targeted by the training, namely the Ministry of Education (ME), the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Art, and Culture (MJDAC), and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture (MESCC).

The aforementioned workshop aimed to prepare state officials for Timor-Leste’s accession to ASEAN, namely in acquiring knowledge about the procedures and benefits for the country in the education, youth, and sports sectors upon its accession as a permanent member.

At this event, information was also shared about opportunities for Timor-Leste within these same sectors, particularly with regard to the training and qualification of human resources and the respective opportunities for scholarships, youth exchanges, and professional training possibilities within the scope of the specific areas of education, youth, and sports.

The trainers involved in the workshop come from the ASEAN General Secretariat.

Several collaborators from the three ministries targeted took part in the workshop, that is, ME, MJDAC, and MESCC.
