Dili, 07/02/2024: The technical team from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, represented by the Coordinator of the Coordinating Commission for Universities and Institutes (CUIS β Portuguese acronym), Dr. Edmundo Viegas, along with technicians from DNES-MESCC, joined by the Magnificent Rectors and Presidents of Higher Education Institutions in Timor-Leste, participated in a meeting with the Executive Director of the “Georgia Tech Institute for People and Technology”, Prof. Dr. Michael L. Best, at the Golgota Hotel Conference Hall, Dili.
The objective of this meeting was to discuss the possibilities of cooperation that the Institution wishes to offer in areas such as exchange programs, research, joint projects, and also in technology areas such as artificial intelligence.
The Georgia Tech Institute for People and Technology (IPaT) is an interdisciplinary research institute at the Georgia Institute of Technology, United States. This institute focuses on advancing the state of technology to benefit people and communities. The research conducted by this institution covers areas such as Health, Education, Media, and Smart Cities, aiming to develop innovative solutions to contribute to improving the quality of life.
The session was attended by the Presidents and Magnificent Rectors of Public and Private Higher Education Institutions, as well as relevant Institutions.
