Dili, May 27, 2024: His Excellency, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, Dr. JosΓ© HonΓ³rio, led a discussion with members of CUIS (Coordinating Commission of Universities and Institutes of Timor-Leste) in the Meeting Room of MESCC, in Colmera-Dili, to discuss opinions on the concept note of CUIS’s four main programs.

The purpose of this meeting was to listen to and discuss the opinions of all CUIS members regarding the concept note, which encompasses the four main programs that will serve as the government’s primary assistance model to improve the quality of the national higher education sector.

The four main programs are: (1) Annual Action Plan for the Public Grant Fund, which will support 17 private higher education institutions in Timor-Leste; (2) Teacher Training; (3) Market Studies aligned with the contribution of Higher Education; (4) Education Situation Analysis.

The meeting was attended by two Director-Generals from the Ministry, the Coordinator of CUIS, CUIS members, representatives of the 17 higher education institutions that will benefit from the public grant, and relevant entities.
