Díli, 21/08/2024: The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture (MESCC), through the Directorate-General of Higher Education and Science, led by the Director-General, Mrs. Maria Filomena Lay Guterres, held a meeting with the partnership of UM Woman and (JU,S) Jurídico Social. This meeting took place for the first time in the MESCC conference room, aiming to discuss legislation related to Sexual Harassment and Gender-Based Violence in Higher Education Institutions.
The main objective of this meeting was to discuss the drafting of a law and regulations for the prevention, protection, and regulation of issues related to Gender-Based Sexual Harassment in Higher Education Institutions across the National Territory, thus ensuring a safe space and campus for all students.
The meeting, led by the Director-General of Higher Education, was attended by representatives from UM Woman, Jurídico Social, representatives of Higher Education Institutions, and other relevant institutions.
