On Tuesday, May 14th, His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Culture, Dr. José Honório, participated in the Portuguese Language Awards Ceremony of the Oriente Foundation. In his speech, he highlighted the importance of this initiative for the dissemination and consolidation of Portuguese in Timor-Leste and congratulated the participants for the example they set for all young people. The creative writing contest is supported by MESCC and involves the participation of teachers from the Training Department as part of the jury in evaluating the competing texts.
This year, the 10th edition of the Portuguese Language Award, the theme was “Freedom,” and the winner was Leónia dos Santos Araújo with the short story entitled “The Portuguese Language is Our Freedom.”
