Ermera | December 18, 2025 — The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, Dr. José Honório, participated in the ceremony marking the transfer of management of the East Timor Coffee Institute (ETCI) to the Government of Timor-Leste.
During the ceremony, the official document formalizing the transfer was signed, ensuring the continuity of ETCI’s work and the recognition of its teachers, technical staff, and students.
The event was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister, Eng. Mariano Assanami Sabino, representing the Prime Minister, as well as members of the Government, local authorities, partners, and the academic community.
The ceremony underscored the importance of coffee as a national symbol and a key factor in Timor-Leste’s sustainable development.
