𝐌𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐂 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐅𝐅 𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐘 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐓 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒

Staff from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture participate in an Immersion Study Visit in ASEAN countries, through the Future Leaders for ASEAN Program, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste, to better understand ASEAN issues, and thus support Timor-Leste in its preparation to become a full member of ASEAN in the future.

The technical team participating in this activity, with departure dates varying from June 15 to 16, 2024, will be distributed according to each team’s respective destination countries. The team includes: 𝐔𝐑𝐏 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐚 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐬 (𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑽𝒊𝒆𝒕𝒏𝒂𝒎), 𝐃𝐆𝐏𝐅 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐝𝐚 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐚 (𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑩𝒓𝒖𝒏𝒆𝒊), and 𝐃𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐅á𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐨 (𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒂).

The objective of this study visit, with a main focus on three study areas—Human Development, Sustainability, and Economic Growth—is to provide participants with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and study strategies that can support sectors related to these areas. This effort aims to contribute to Timor-Leste’s integration into ASEAN, particularly in aligning with existing systems within ASEAN.

During the activities of this Study Visit, participants will engage in visits and discussions to exchange ideas and knowledge with institutions in strategic sectors of each destination country, such as the public and private sectors, companies, universities, international institutions, tourism, and other sectors that significantly contribute to the sustainable development of each destination country.

𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝘂 𝗟𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗮 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 (𝗙𝗟𝗕𝗔), 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗶𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗿-𝗟𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲’𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.

Participants in this program come from both the public and private sectors, including government institutions, NGOs, university students, national and international agencies, as well as entrepreneurs and innovators (freelancers).

According to the existing plan, the study visit activity will be conducted over 10 days, following the schedule stipulated for each team in their respective destination countries.
