Represented by Mr. Gaspar Noronha and Mrs. Dulcie Pereira, the MESCC official technician participated in Intake 57 of the NZELTO Program (New Zealand English Language Training for government officials from Asia). The program, themed around “Education,” encompassed English language training and work projects related to education, good governance, and interculturality.

The program, offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand, aimed to strengthen education, good governance, and interculturality. It promoted regional integration among participating countries, focusing on intercultural understanding between their officials and New Zealand.

The activities in this program included English language training provided by the English Language Institute at Victoria University of Wellington, intercultural communication, an introduction to New Zealand’s Good Governance, workplace communication, and field visits to enhance participants’ personal capacities.

Four representatives from Timor-Leste participated in this program, coming from institutions such as MESCC itself, ANAAA, and INDIMO. They were accompanied by participants from other countries such as Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, and Vietnam, totaling 32 individuals.

The program took place in Wellington, New Zealand, from February 21st to May 24th, 2024.
