Dili, March 16, 2026 — His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, Dr. José Honório, presided over the official signing ceremony for the Agreement on the Transfer of Assets from the Millennium Challenge Account Timor-Leste (MCA-TL) to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture (MHESC). The ceremony was held in the Ministry’s meeting room in Colmera, Dili.
This ceremony marks an important milestone in formalizing the process of transferring assets from MCA-TL to MHESC. The agreement allows assets previously used in MCA-TL programs and activities to be officially transferred to the Ministry, ensuring their continued use in support of institutional activities.
The transfer of these resources will contribute to strengthening the Ministry’s initiatives and projects, particularly in the areas of higher education and science, while supporting institutional development and capacity building in Timor-Leste.
The ceremony was attended by Her Excellency the Deputy Minister of Finance, leaders and representatives of both institutions, staff members, and technical personnel.
