Jakarta, June 13, 2024: The team from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture (MESCC), led by the Coordinator of the Partnerships and Cooperation Unit, Mr. Paulo Mariano, along with the Education AttachΓ© and Assistant Education AttachΓ© of MESCC in Indonesia, accompanied by technicians from the Ministry, held a meeting with the administration of Mercu Buana University in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The purpose of this meeting was to respond to the request made by this institution to MESCC, through the Education AttachΓ©’s Office in Indonesia, expressing its interest in establishing cooperation with Timor-Leste to support the development of human resources. This cooperation aims to provide scholarship opportunities for Timorese students to pursue their studies at Mercu Buana University at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels in fields such as Business Management, Foreign Languages, International Business, and other related areas.
The process of implementing these scholarships, as well as the recruitment and administrative processes, will be carried out and managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture.
Additionally, Mercu Buana University expressed its interest in, through cooperation with MESCC, becoming a source for establishing partnerships with higher education institutions in Timor-Leste, especially in the areas of human resource development, research, and other areas that may be established according to the cooperation needs between Mercu Buana University and the higher education institutions in Timor-Leste.
Therefore, this technical meeting is a continuation of the mission of the MESCC technical delegation in Indonesia, aimed at exploring cooperation opportunities that can support and contribute to strengthening the quality of the higher education system in Timor-Leste.
