Bandung, June 12, 2024: A delegation from Timor-Leste’s MESCC, composed of the Coordinator of the Partnership and Cooperation Unit, Mr. Paulo Marian, Ms. Dalia Suzana, Mr. Helio Domingos, and Mr. Joel Salsinha, accompanied by the team from the Education AttachΓ©’s Office in Indonesia, held a meeting with the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in Bandung, Indonesia.

The objective of this technical meeting was to discuss the possibility of continuing the cooperation aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture and the aforementioned institution in the area of human resource capacity building in engineering and fisheries. Additionally, the meeting aimed to continue the technical support for the development and establishment of the Public Polytechnic Institute of Timor-Leste, planned according to the National Strategic Development Plan, which will continue to be implemented in the near future.

It is worth mentioning that ITB already has cooperation with Timor-Leste through the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, especially in supporting the development and establishment of the Betano and Lospalos Polytechnic Institutes, which will soon be established. The support includes the development of technical infrastructure design, technical assistance for implementation and establishment, and other services focused on the technical area.

During this meeting, the plan for human resource capacity building, which the Government of Timor-Leste intends to send to continue their studies at the aforementioned institutions in the field of engineering, was also discussed.
