INCT is a public institute, endowed with legal personality, with administrative, financial and patrimonial autonomy, as well as scientific and editorial autonomy, without prejudice to the supervisory action of the State, under the terms of the law and these Statutes.

INCT undertakes its mission to continuously promote the advancement of scientific and technological knowledge in Timor-Leste, exploring opportunities that reveal themselves in all scientific and technological domains with the potential to reach the highest international standards of knowledge creation, and to stimulate its dissemination and practical application as a factor in the development and improvement of the population’s well-being.
