by Thailand, 21/04/2024: A delegation team from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture, composed of the National Director of Human Resources, Mr. Edgar Manuel Soares, and the CUIS Member, Mr. Edmundo Viegas, Mr. João Câncio da Costa Freitas, participates in the “3rd AUAP Faculty Development Program” in Bangkok and Pattaya, Thailand.
The program, organized by the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), in collaboration with the Master Institute Development Academy and Seminary (MIDAS), Thailand, and the Central Book of the Philippines and the Association of Southeast and East Asian Catholic Colleges and Universities (ASEACCU), has the theme “Internationalization in Higher Education”. Its aim is to provide techniques to higher education institutions with perspectives and skills to become effective managers and relevant agents in the internationalization process of their higher education institutions.
Furthermore, the participation of the Timor-Leste delegation serves as a catalyst for the development of capacities in higher education, the establishment of international relations, and the promotion of innovation and quality in the national educational system, in order to attract international partners who can assist in promoting the recognition of Timor-Leste’s higher education institutions internationally through programs proposed by CUIS.
The program will last for five days, from April 21st to 25th, 2024, at the same location.
