Liquiçá, 23/08/2024: H.E. the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture, Dr. José Honório, participated in two meetings with the Liquiçá municipal authorities to continue coordinating and preparing for the visit of His Holiness the Pope, scheduled for next month.
The purpose of the meetings was to discuss and coordinate the Pope’s visit and the celebration of the public consultation day in the Municipality of Liquiçá, aiming to strengthen technical preparations as needed.
In his intervention, the Minister stated that “it is necessary to establish a coordination line and cooperate between municipal authorities and religious authorities, including all responsible parties, to ensure that preparations proceed successfully.”
According to data provided by the organizing committee, the total number of participants at the Mass in Tasi-Tolu was 4717, with an adjustment planned to reach a complete registration of 6000 people, as defined for each municipality.
The meetings were attended by the President of the Municipal Authority (PAM) of Liquiçá, Mr. Paulino Ribeiro; the President of CCLN-Liquiçá, Mr. Vicente da Conceição; the Commander of the Liquiçá Municipal Police, Superintendent Paulino Carmo Pereira; representatives from institutions (PNTL) and (FFDTL); post administrators; local authority leaders; religious entities; and other relevant entities.
