Dili, 01/10/2024: H.E. the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Culture, Dr. José Honório, accompanied by the Chief of Staff, together with the Coordinator of the Partnership and Cooperation Unit and technical staff, held a farewell meeting with the students selected for the Instituto Camões scholarship program, in the MESCC meeting room in Colmera, Dili.
A total of seven students were selected for the scholarships, who will continue their undergraduate studies in Portugal. These students will be placed in different areas of specialization of their choice, with funding provided by the aforementioned program, offered by the Government of Portugal to Timor-Leste.
The Instituto Camões scholarships are part of a regular annual program that offers opportunities to Timorese students with merit to pursue their undergraduate studies in Portugal.
During the farewell session, H.E. the Minister, Dr. José Honório, in his message to the students, urged them to make the most of this opportunity and to remain conscious of the importance of their studies, so that they may successfully complete their courses, thereby achieving the goals and objectives they have set for themselves.
Before this meeting, the students had already held a farewell session with the Embassy of Portugal in Timor-Leste, and they are now preparing to travel to Portugal shortly to begin their academic journeys in higher education in Portugal.
