The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture of Timor-Leste, H.E. Dr. JosΓ© HonΓ³rio, accompanied by the General Director of Planning and Budget, Mr. HernΓ’ni Viterbo da Costa Soares, and their team, participated in the 20th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology, and Innovation (AMMSTI-20) in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Their engagement underscored Timor-Leste’s dedication to advancing scientific and technological collaboration within the ASEAN community.

With the objective of fostering partnerships and knowledge exchange, Timor-Leste’s participation in AMMSTI-20 holds significant importance. By aligning with ASEAN’s efforts to promote science, technology, and innovation, Timor-Leste aims to leverage regional expertise and resources to accelerate its own development agenda. This involvement provides opportunities for Timorese stakeholders to network, learn best practices, and access funding and technical assistance crucial for driving progress in key sectors such as education, research, and economic diversification.
